On Friday, June 13, 2003 at the Bala Golf Club in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Press Association held its annual press awards. The Catholic Star Herald won several awards that night. One was for their piece entitled "Clergy sexual abuse: The diocesan response" in the category of Public Service Weekly Division. PPA thought that the article was so excellent that we also awarded The Catholic Star Herald our "Grand Award for Public Service" for the year 2002.
